Following in their footsteps: Hollywood actress Halle Berry said it was a 'dream come true' to have her own shoe collection
Following in their footsteps: Hollywood actress Halle Berry said it was a 'dream come true' to have her own shoe collection

It used to be the case that you couldn't really call yourself a celebrity until you had your own fragrance. Now stars are aiming higher - with whole collections of footwear.

Cheryl Cole recently launched a collection on Stylistpick.com, following in the footsteps of everyone from Natalie Portman to Jay-Z.

And Halle Berry - who already has her own fragrance - is now throwing her own line of sandals into the mix.

The '5ths Avenue by Halle Berry' collection, designed for German retailer Deichmann Shoes, comes six months after Cindy Crawford posed with her own range of Deichmann heals.

The launch of the collection must be a welcome distraction for the actress who was interviewed by the Los Angeles Police Department yesterday over claims her ex-boyfriend pushed their daughter's nanny during an argument.

Like Crawford, Berry is 45 - and the shoot shows off her enviably toned legs as she slips on her new shoes.

The film star's spring/summer range of 40 limited edition shoes will boast peep toes with wedge heels, high-heeled sandals with straps and high-heeled sling sandals on wedge heels.

Berry said it was a 'dream come true' to have her own collection.

She said: 'Women have always loved shoes. It's like if your hair is not right and your shoes are not right, the woman is not right.

'If both of them are right, you're pretty much OK.

'And shoes are a statement. They can be very sexy; they can say something about where you are in the day; they can say what your mood is; they give you a chance to accessorize.

'And I'm a girl that loves to change my shoes all the time. It's an expression of who you are really. I'm a girl if I find a shoe that I really like I like to get them in all colours. I'm big on that.

'I would say I'm a nude girl because this goes with everything. You can dress it up and dress it down.

'I can't think of any girl who wouldn't want her name on a brand of shoes. I think that's pretty cool.

In her Deichmann commercial, Berry gets so caught up in the shoes and changes of outfit in her dressing room that she is late on a film set.

She said of the ad: 'I like the concept of it. It really relates to my life and who I am as a person and what I do for a living.

'And I think there's kind of a fun element to it. And it also speaks to my love of shoes.'

'The company's owner Heinrich Deichmann said: 'We are very pleased that Halle Berry is our new partner.

'She is an internationally renowned artist and a global style icon.'

The company, which is Europe's largest shoe retailer with more that 50 UK stores has previously signed up the Pussycat Dolls and the Sugababes to promote its shoes.

Berry's shoes will go on sale in the UK from early March with prices starting at £29.99.

Halle Berry pulled into Gabriel Aubry investigation

Halle Berry pulled into Gabriel Aubry investigation

Gabriel Aubry and Halle Berry

Halle Berry has been pulled into the mess that's been bubbling recently between her ex, Gabriel Aubry, and Alliance Kamdem, a nanny who last week alleged battery by Aubry.
The male model allegedly pushed Kamdem into a door while Nahla, Berry and Aubry's 3-year-old daughter, was in her arms, according to a police report obtained by TMZ. Aubry and the nanny had quarreled that day, Jan. 18, over Nahla missing school, the report said.
A judge on Tuesday rejected Kamdem's request for a restraining order. Before the alleged incident, she was required by court order to be at each parent's house -- depending on who had custody at the time -- from 12:30 p.m. until Nahla is put to bed, On the Red Carpet said. The judge, who hasn't been the regular judge in the case, decided Tuesday to leave the orders in place until the regular judge can revisit the situation Monday.
Berry was visited by reps from the Department of Child and Family Services on Wednesday, TMZ reported; interviews of both parents are done routinely when abuse or neglect is being investigated. Aubry is reportedly being investigated for misdemeanor battery and child endangerment.
Custody of Nahla has been a matter of contention between the two since they split in April 2010. Berry, who has famously said she'll never marry again, recently received an emerald-and-diamond ring from beau Olivier Martinez -- whatever that means.

Halle Berry was photographed heading to court today to ask a judge for an order prohibiting her ex boyfriend from having any contact with their daughter.

She wanted Gabriel Aubry to be kept away from their 3-year-old while he is being investigated for child endangerment.

The actress, who looked strained, was driven to the LA courthouse by her lawyer.

But Halle has been told she will have to wait until Monday to get a decision.

Judge Scott Gordon heard the matter this morning while Judge Mark Juhas, who has been handling the ongoing custody case, is on vacation, according to TMZ.

After hearing the lawyers arguments, Judge Gordon decided to put the matter off until next Monday, when Judge Juhas returns.

Judge Gordon did not grant an immediate emergency order for either side because he believed there are enough protections in place to keep Nahla safe until Monday's hearing.

Halle and Gabriel did not address the judge.

The French-Canadian model is accused of pushing the nanny of his three-year-old daughter Nahla - who he had with ex-girlfriend Halle Berry - into a door while she was holding the little girl.

The nanny, Alliance Kamdem, had requested a restraining order against Aubry claiming she feared retaliation.

But today the judge also rejected Kamdem's request for a restraining order, calling her petition 'insufficient and speculative.'

The judge added that Kamdem's issues should be resolved in family court.

Sources have said that the alleged incident took place when Gabriel was supposed to take Nahla to school on Wednesday but kept her home instead.

When nanny Alliance arrived to pick her up and found her not to beat at school , she went to Gabriel's home and questioned him as to why he had kept her away from school.

According to a report, Gabriel shouted: 'You're the f**king nanny. Who do you think you are? You are a nobody. You don't need to f**king know anything.'

HALLE Berry's nanny says she's sick and tired of being verbally - and physically - abused by the Oscar-winner's baby's dad Gabriel Aubry, and Berry is taking the issue to a courtroom, according to RadarOnline.com.
Berry is due back in a Los Angeles court today for an emergency hearing, a source tells RadarOnline.com, as she will not let the Canadian male model visit with their daughter Nahla because he has allegedly shown signs of violence.

Last Wednesday, the source told RadarOnline.com the nanny showed up to pick Nahla up at school, though she was not there because Gabriel had kept her home sick for two days.

"The nanny went to pick Nahla up at school and she wasn't there, so she went to Gabriel's home," a source told RadarOnline.com. "Gabriel and the nanny got into an argument because no one alerted her that Nahla didn't go to school."

The source told RadarOnline.com Aubry allegedly called the nanny a racial slur, before things took a turn for the physical.

"She picked up Nahla to leave and Gabriel yelled at her and shoved her out the door so hard that she hit the wall - while she had Nahla in her arms!" the source alleges, adding that the nanny claims the abuse is ongoing.

After the incident, the distraught nanny told Halle she couldn't take the abuse anymore and that she’s quitting her job.

Halle Berry is taking her ex Gabriel Aubry to court over claims he pushed his daughter Nahla's nanny into a wall while she held the child.

According to RadarOnline, the actress is furious at the male model's alleged behaviour, in which he abused the worker both verbally and physically.

Police are also investigating the incident after it was reported to them, with TMZ reporting charges of criminal child endangerment and battery being considered.

The confrontation supposedly happened last Wednesday, when the childminder went to his home after discovering he had kept three-year-old Nahla absent from nursery for two days due to illness.

A source said: 'The nanny went to pick Nahla up at school and she wasn't there, so she went to Gabriel's home.

'Gabriel and the nanny got into an argument because no one alerted her that Nahla didn't go to school.'

The source also claims the confrontation took a turn for the worse, and the abuse turned from verbal to physical between the 5'2" nanny and the 6'4" French Canadian.

They claimed: 'She picked up Nahla to leave and Gabriel yelled at her and shoved her out the door so hard that she hit the wall -- while she had Nahla in her arms.'

TMZ are also reporting the 36-year-old told the childminder: 'You're the f****** nanny. Who do you think you are? You are a nobody. You don't need to f****** know anything.'

It is also reported the nanny is claiming the abuse has been ongoing, and that she has now quit her job because of it.

A special hearing at a Los Angeles court is scheduled for tomorrow, with Halle Berry flying back specially to attend.

It is the latest development in the long-running legal battle between the pair over their daughter.

The nanny has been a bone of contention previously, with the model failing in an attempt in October to have more visitation time with his daughter without her supervision.

He is furious at not being allowed to care for his daughter on his own, and claims the chidlminder encroaches on his relationship with Nahla.

The Mail contacted Gabriel and Halle's legal representatives, but have yet to receive a response.

Halle Berry Shark Thriller Dark Tide to Debut on VOD 3 Weeks Before Theatrical Release

Halle Berry Shark Thriller to Debut on VOD 3 Weeks Before Theatrical Release

Fri Jan 20, 2012 12:42pm EST
Shark thriller "Dark Tide" will debut on video-on-demand three weeks before it makes its theatrical debut, Lionsgate and Wrekin Hill Entertainment announced on Friday. The movie will roll out as part of what the distributors are dubbing a "multi-tiered" release strategy. It will debut on VOD on March 8 and have a theatrical release on March 30.
The film will then premiere on digital download and on disc at a later date, the companies said.
Wrekin Hill Entertainment and Row 1 Productions acquired U.S. rights to the Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez action thriller this week.
John Stockwell ("Blue Crush") directs the film, which was written by Amy Sorlie and Ronnie Christensen. Jeanette Buerling and Matthew Chausse produced the thriller.
In the movie Berry plays shark expert whose business has been failing since a shark attack killed a fellow diver under her command. With the bank about to foreclose on her boat, Berry's character agrees to lead a thrill-seeking millionaire on a dangerous dive in the world's deadliest feeding ground for sharks.
The deal for "Dark Tide" was negotiated by Ball and Rene Cogan for Wrekin Hill and Brandt Andersen on behalf of Row 1 Productions, with Stuart Ford and Jonathan Deckter of IM Global on behalf of the filmmakers.
